On December 1-3, in Tsakhadzor Multi Rest House Hotel Complex a seminar on the theme ‘Budgetary Process, Program Budgeting and Analytical Tool Set’  was held.

The seminar was organized by the Budget Office of the RA National Assembly within the implementation of its function of the National Assembly capacity building development in the sphere of finnace management, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the framework the project Public Finance Management in the South Caucasus for the Staff, experts of the Standing Committees and Factions.

The Head of the RA NA Budget Office, Coordinator-Expert Gagik Barseghyan has noted that the goal of the seminar is to improve the awareness and the knowledge of the Staff of the parliament relating to the development of the parliamentary oversight in the sphere of finance management, budgetary complete process, programme budgeting reforms and the assessment and analysis of the budgetary programmes.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan, emphasizing the seminar, noted that until now no discussion had been held with such format. In his word, the main goal of the seminar is to give an opportunity to the experts of the RA NA Standing Committees, involved in the budgetary process, as well as the members of the staff to get familiarized with the budgetary process and its peculiarities.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan, the Head of the RA NA Budget Office, Coordinator-Expert Gagik Barseghyan, the expert Suren Poghosyan, the Adviser of the Head of the of the Budget Expenditure Financial Programming Department of the Staff of the RA Ministry of Finance Zhora Asatryan and the Deputy Head of the Head of Public Sector Accounting Methodology and Reporting Monitoring Department Edgar Mkrtchyan held courses for the participants of the seminar.
